Good
day Puffer hockey players;
Just
a reminder that our season opener is this Wednesday, September 30 at 9:00 p.m.
at the JMRRC.
Please
also remember to bring your jersey/socks from last season.
Check
the website for the schedule and rosters.
The
format for this season is a bit different than usual because of covid.
We
will have 7 skaters and one goalie per team. Play will be 4 on 4 for 30 minutes
so it should be fast paced action.
The
first penalty assessed a team is a 3 minute penalty served in the penalty box.
If a second penalty is assessed during that time to the same team, the opposing
team will add a player to the ice giving them a 5 on 3 advantage. This is to
ensure the penalty box is not over crowded. In the instance of a third penalty
while the first two are being served a penalty shot will be the punishment.
At
this time players are asked to come to hockey partially dressed. Dressing rooms
will be available for putting on skates, helmet etc. After the game each team
has 20 minutes to get showered and dressed in their street clothes and exit the
building.
We
are looking forward to a fun season. During these trying times we need to have
some normalcy and the exercise afforded by hockey. We ask each player to adhere
to the regulations/conditions of play put forth by the city and public health
so that we may continue to enjoy our activities.
