Aveda went winless (0-3-1) on a recent four-game homestand and will now play two straight on the road.
Aveda played last Wednesday evening against Northpoint and were dealt a 5-3 loss by the blue team, who scored just 13 seconds into the game and led the rest of the way.Aveda ceded control to Northpoint before the ice had frozen. Defenceman Len Neal lost control of a pass on a play developing from the opening faceoff, leaving the puck open for Northpoint , to give a 1-0 lead 13 seconds into the game.
It was three seconds shy of Puffer record for fastest goal to start a game, but that did not slow Northpoint.
"There is no excuse," Aveda defenseman Len Neal told his team's official website. "We need results and we need results now and our season is on the line here. We've shown at times here that we are a playoff-capable team. We're still in it despite the last couple of weeks, so we've just got to get the job done."
